Training Weekend Venue
The training weekend will again be at the Christian camp in Waikanae about 50km north of Wellington.
El Rancho is located just 4 kilometres off SH1, on the seaward side of the township. Turn off the highway at the lights at Te Moana Road. A little over 3 kilometres down, Greenaway Road runs off to the left. Then turn right into Puriri Road, then left into Kauri Road, which is a no exit road. The camp entrance is at the end of Kauri Road.
We will again be utilising the Elm Lodge and Elm Hall facilities, using the three dormitory units Elm 8, Elm 9 and Elm 10. Each unit comprises a lounge with microwave and fridge, nine bedrooms containing twin single beds, wardrobe and washing basin, two small shower rooms, two toilets, and one handicap-compliant combination shower/toilet room. Total accommodation capacity is 54 persons but attendance is typically not more than 40 persons.
There is vehicular access to the Elm Complex, with a car park directly behind units 9 and 10.
Meals are taken at the Elm Dining Room, which is part of the Meeting Room, Hall and Lounge facility encountered a short distance in from the camp's entrance.
