Southern Light Community Centre

The Southern Light Community Centre (SLCC) is the outreach arm of the Southern Light Community Church and is a registered charity under the Worldwide Church of God.  It was launched in late February of 2007 while the facility was still in its preparation stage, and opened its doors finally in April.

Centred around a shop that sells donated goods of merchandisable quality, the Centre seeks to build bridges into the community, especially those that have the need of low cost furniture, whitewear, and household goods of all sorts.  The Centre is opened on normal working days from 9 am to 4:30 pm.

The SLCC, after covering its own expenses, aims to utilise excess funds to support the following charities Southern Light Community Centerin Invercargill:

The purpose of the Centre is to provide a central location where members of the community may meet for other activities also.  To this end, classes in such things as fine arts painting, etc. are provided as and when tutors for these are found.

It is the intention of the Centre to stage community events once the Centre is fully established that will enable community members to meet and join with others living nearby to them.
