Festival 2010
The Festival for 2010 will this year be held in Rotorua, which is an area of great scenic, cultural and tourist activity. This picturesque town of 65,000 is planted at the side of Lake Rotorua in the central Bay of Plenty. The selected venue is the very fine Millennium Rotorua Hotel, which is located only a block over from the central city region.
The Rotorua area boasts many fascinating scenic sights and activities catering for many styles of tourist, ranging from bush and forest walking, trout fishing, boating, float-plane and helicopter scenic flights to tours of cultural, historic and geothermal locations, superb golf courses and of course shopping and restaurants of all sorts. There is definitely no shortage of things to do. Taupo, with its spectacular views to the central North Island mountains and tourist activities, is less than an hour's drive to the south west of Rotorua and the Chateau Tongariro on Mt. Ruapehu only a further hour and half's drive beyond that to the south.
